Assistive Robotics
Summary:
This research is interested in robotic assistive devices to maintain independent living and encompasses the creation of a device to aid in the sit-to-stand movement. The research will include examining the biomechanics of rising from a chair to determine the best method of assistance, examining different actuators available, and developing and testing of a device to assist the elderly in standing from a seated position.
